Recently incumbent District 3 Georgia Public Service Commissioner Chuck Eaton went public with an unexpected new “pro-solar” statement.

But the truth is, Eaton’s newly professed crush on solar energy is simply a reaction to a private solar utility company’s proposal that would reportedly and open a marketplace for the struggling solar industry in Georgia.

Even more baffling is the lack of details available for Eaton’s rumored solar initiative with Georgia Power.

During Eaton’s five-year tenure, he has been a tool used to keep us in the dark.

In a July 2012 Voter Guide, Eaton vocalized his solar doubts and was critical of policies that would diversify electricity production. In fact, Eaton’s public and private positions on solar have been unchanged for the past five years, until late last month –– two months before he faces a difficult re-election effort. What a convenient coincidence.
