Against Eagle’s Landing on Sept. 28, the senior running back ran for four touchdowns and 132 yards on 13 carries in the 56-32 Raiders’ victory.
“The offensive line made their blocks and I just ran hard,” Magwood said.
“Kamhad is a dynamic back,” Riverdale coach Olten Downs said. “He has great size—6-1, 210 [pounds]. He’s one of the fastest and strongest guys on our team. He can be one of the best tailbacks in the state.”
The reason Downs feels this way is due to Magwood’s improved vision.
“He’s running tougher in between the tackles,” Downs said. “One thing we’ve always tried to tell him is to not pin himself to the sideline because he has great speed.”
“Last year, I wasn’t really good at reading the tackles and the holes,” Magwood said. “But my vision is pretty good now.”
While playing football on the next level, Magwood wants to major in culinary arts to become a chef. He said he would like to attend Alabama, Cincinnati or Valdosta State.
