In a 35-7 victory over Dalton, the Cass Colonels worked hard as a team throughout the game to pull through.

One player stood out as a big part of this win, Brandon Etheridge.

This junior, quarterback and defensive back played a great game for his team on the night of Sept. 28.

With three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown, Etheridge had a hand in four of the five touchdowns on the night.

“He played extremely well against Dalton. He threw the ball well and did a great job leading our team to a win,” said head football coach Rick Casko.

Also on the night, Etheridge finished the game with 147 rushing yards and 185 passing yards, completing 15 of 18 pass attempts, averaging more than 12 yards per completion.

According to Casko, Etheridge is a “tremendous competitor that plays very physical and with lots of courage.” He is a player who is not afraid of anything and is always looking to obtain the win, no matter what side of the ball he’s on.

“He likes to win. He hits very hard when he’s on defense. When he has the ball in his hands he wants to find the end zone and when he throws he wants to make completions,” Casko said.

Etheridge began playing for Casko just last season as a sophomore and Casko is excited about having him for one more year.

“He’s still young but he’s good. He’s only going to get better,” Casko said.
