The junior lineman not only dwarfs the Cougars’ next biggest player by 95 pounds, but he can also be found just ahead of the running back, paving the way for what has been a dominating Holy Spirit running game this season.
“In multiple games this season, [we have had] single backs rush for well over 100 yards and Sam is one of the largest contributors to that success from the right side of our offensive line,” said first-year Holy Spirit coach Andre Taylor.
“He works hard to dominate at his position and his versatility allows us to move him from tackle to center and in the last game even guard,” Taylor said.
Grisham’s versatility extends beyond the offensive line as well. Taylor said that Grisham is used on defense to anchor the line at nose tackle and is just as versatile off the field.
“The effort Sam displays on the field is mirrored in the classroom, where he excels in all subjects,” said Taylor of his star lineman. “He maintains nearly all A’s, devotes time towards his passion for singing and works hard to steadily improve the brand of football at Holy Spirit.”
