The young distance runner finished first overall with a time of 18:11 at the girls’ Class A cross country championships last Saturday in Macon.
Senior Lindy Long finished second overall with a time of 18:40 for Landmark, which won its second straight state title.
“Kathryn is motivated by what Lindy has done in the past and they still kind of thrive on each other,” said Landmark cross country coach Bill Thorn before Saturday’s results.
“We love each other but when it comes to racing we just get out there and try to beat each other,” said Foreman prior to her final race of the season.
On Oct. 25, Foreman also helped the Lady War Eagles win the Area 3 title with a time 18:34 for first overall. Long finished second with a time of 19:30.
“They know that they’ve got the training behind them to help make that happen,” Thorn said. “They are very confident in what they do because of the way they train.”
Foreman, who has been running since the seventh grade, will now prepare for the 1600 and 3200 meter races this spring.
