James W. Wagner, president of Emory University, recently wrote an opinion piece entitled “Liberal arts build truly open minds.” He wanted readers to believe that studying the liberal arts is not related to being a liberal. If that is so, then why are 90 percent of liberal arts professors liberal?

If you graduated from a decent liberal arts program you would be a conservative! A conservative believes in true freedom, i.e., the people control the government. A liberal believes in slavery, i.e., the government controls the people. Conservatives are truly open-minded! Liberals are truly closed-minded! Just ask the number of students who received a failing grade on a paper or course because they disagreed with their liberal arts professors.

If you voted for Obama you did not have a decent liberal arts education.

Wagner claims to be an educator who cares. Well this is my 58th year as an educator and I know I care. Any educator who really cares about education will call for the abolishment of the Federal Department of Education; completely redefine the purposes of State Departments of Education; and abolish all teacher training programs at colleges/universities as they do more harm than good. Oh yeah, 90 percent of the education, i.e., teacher training, professors are liberals.
