The 6-foot-1 sophomore guard is not only one of the Warriors’ leading scorers with 11 points per game, he is also one of their top players on defense.
Jenkins has scored in double figures in a couple of games — a 19-point performance in a 68-55 victory over Riverwood Nov. 16 and a 10-point effort in a 56-54 win over Westminster Dec. 1.
In addition to his offensive and defensive skills, Jenkins brings versatility to the North Atlanta lineup with his abilities to handle the ball at point guard and to score at shooting guard.
“Miles, he’s a ’tweener,” North Atlanta coach John Gaines said. “He’s a combo guard and he’s real active on defense — he’s in the passing lane a lot. He gets a lot of steals. He’s one of the guys that knocks down jumpers for us. He’s one of the better defenders on the team.”
Jenkins has been a key contributor for North Atlanta since his first varsity season a year ago, when he averaged nine points a game and was named the team’s Freshman of the Year.
He also plays AAU basketball for Team Force.
