Through stories, hands-on exhibits and crafts, museum mascots Sandy the chipmunk and Spring the turtle will introduce preschoolers to history. Based on the Smithsonian Institution’s Early Enrichment program, Turtle Tours are held one Saturday each month at 11 a.m. and last about 45 minutes. The program is free, but donations are encouraged.

o April 13: Sandy and Spring Feed Their Feathery Friends

o June 8: Sandy and Spring Go On Vacation
o July 13: The Fourth of July and Sandy and Spring
o Aug. 10: Sandy and Spring Find a Treasure Map
o Sept. 14: Changing Trees and Autumn Leaves with Sandy and Spring
o Oct. 12: Using Our Senses with Sandy and Spring
o Nov. 9: Learning About Georgia with Sandy and Spring
o Dec. 14: Sandy and Spring Celebrate the Season
“Preschoolers love learning and they will have a great time exploring history and nature with our museum mascots, Sandy and Spring,” said Kimberly Brigance, Heritage Sandy Springs’ director of programs and historic resources.
The museum is located at 6075 Sandy Springs Circle. Parking is available on Sandy Springs Place in designated parking lots.
