The show is free and all are welcome.
This year, the art show will be held in conjunction with the organization’s annual meeting.
“The Juried Arts Show and annual membership reception is free and open to the public, so whether you’re an artist, art enthusiast or simply a person who enjoys beauty and social events, you’ll have a great time,” said Debbie Withers, executive director of McDonough Arts.
McDonough Arts created the now annual show because it falls directly in line with is mission.
“McDonough Arts’ mission is to foster a love of the arts within our community,” Withers said. “We provide affordable — usually free — events for the public to enjoy.”
Works at the exhibit will be a mixture of acrylic, oil, pastel and watercolor pieces.
Photographs and other digital images will also be present at the exhibit.
In the past, attendance has remained steady, although Withers hopes that this year attendance will increase.
“Every year that McDonough Arts has hosted the Juried Arts Show, attendance has grown,” she said. “Last year, around 100 people attending opening night.”
Awards will be granted to those in the arts show, including a $300 award for best of show, $200 award for first place, $150 award for second place and $100 for third place.
Each piece will be on display beginning the night of the Juried Art Show, Jan. 11, until the end of February.
All entrants in the Juried Arts Show had to be older than 18 and also paid an entry fee.
