Anybody who’s seen the Eagle’s Landing basketball star’s clips on youtube.com would agree.
The 6 foot Golden Eagles point guard has crafted a reputation of parlaying natural gifts — exceptional leaping ability among them — into an electrifying on-court presence and skill set.
“Some have said that he’s the most athletic guard in the state,” said Eagle’s Landing coach Clay Crump. “I haven’t seen anybody who could counter that — when you’re running alley oops for your point guard …”
The senior standout’s game has evolved beyond just flashy dunks, though. Count his diligence in putting in the requisite amount of work to get better in the off-season as being primarily responsible for that.
“He’s explosive to the basket, but he’s also improved his shooting,” Crump added. “And, he’s a really good leader on our team … so, we’re real excited about this season.”
Dennis has been averaging an “efficient” 22 points per game this season, meaning he’s not one of those volume shooters who has to jack up a bunch of shots every game in order to fill up the stat sheet.
What he is is a dynamic player who may be on the verge of turning in a special year, individually and toward the cause of his beloved Golden Eagles.
