It hasn’t taken long for the senior center to make an impact for the Lady Raiders.
Brooks is among the leading scorers for Riverwood with about 10 points a game and is the team’s leading rebounder with about seven per contest.
She has been a consistent performer throughout the early part of the 2012-13 season, but stepped her game up a notch with a 26-point, seven-rebound showing in the Lady Raiders’ 56-36 win over Sprayberry Dec. 14.
She also had 13 points and 10 rebounds in a 50-39 victory over Blessed Trinity Nov. 27, as well as 12 points, 12 rebounds and two steals in a 43-37 win over North Atlanta Nov. 16.
Brooks, who played her first three years of high school basketball at Waubonsie Valley in the Chicago area, has been a welcome addition to the Riverwood lineup, according to Lady Raider coach Vanessa White.
“We’re looking to her for more leadership and so far, she’s done a great job,” White said.
