“We knew early in his freshman year, and even when we got a look at him in eighth grade, that he was going to be a really exciting player at the high school level,” said Martin of Terry, who is now the senior leader of the Cougars 2012-2013 basketball team. “He is the guy that as a coach, you want the ball in his hands.”
With the ball in his hands at point guard, Terry helped Chattahoochee to a region championship last season and into the state playoffs as a sophomore and junior.
As a senior Terry, who signed to play at Presbyterian College in November, is averaging a team high 24 points per game through the Cougars’ first 12 contests. In Chattahoochee’s three-game holiday tournament at Gainesville High School in late December he poured in 85 points — including a season-high 34 points against Collins Hill High School.
“He’s having a great year,” said Martin of his star guard. “If he has his hands on the ball I am always comfortable and confident he is going to make a great play.”
