“Even though some people say it was a blowout, I still think its team-building time to where we can work on things that we normally don’t get to work on if it’s a close game,” Bishop said.
Rakeah Williams added 12 points and 11 rebounds and senior Ana Anderson had nine points, seven boards, four steals and three blocks. But Bishop’s early performance highlighted a 47-0 run after Harvester Christian scored the first two points of the game.
Even though the Lady Eagles added another dominant win to their resume this season, things haven’t been as smooth as previous years due to a 9-3 overall record.
“It’s definitely been a struggle because we have a young team this year,” Bishop said. “Everybody has doubts about us but I still think we can win state again—that is our goal.”
As far as competing on the next level, Bishop said she has been offered an athletic scholarship to Belmont Abbey. She also has a 3.5 GPA and would like to become an allergist.
