The dynamic junior has been impacting games from all over the court. Literally.
“We play her at the 1 as well as the 3, where’s she’s very good because she can shoot the basketball so well,” said Lady Raiders coach Jerry Jackson.
Redan insiders have witnessed Elmore’s game blossom since she won a starting job a couple years back.
“She’s very skilled,” Jackson noted. “She can really handle the basketball … she can do a lot with the ball in her hand — pull up to shoot, drive to the basket, whatever.
“Plus, she rebounds well and plays good defense.”
Throw in a high basketball I.Q. to that skillset and one can imagine the degree to which Elmore — averaging 19 points per game, by the way — routinely affects games. Her contributions helped the Lady Raiders start the season at 11-0.
Added Jackson: “She’s an excellent student-athlete … and she’s one of those kids who’s always in the gym working on her game.”
