Emily Raymer has spent the better part of her senior season at Mount Pisgah rewriting the record books on the basketball court.

In a Dec. 28 game against Davidson Day School (N.C.) Raymer became the first player in school history to score 1,000 career points. Two weeks later in a win over Whitefield Academy, she pulled down the 1,000th rebound of her career and on that same night she posted the first triple-double in Lady Patriot history.

“She put in a lot of hard work and dedication this offseason to get bigger and stronger and it has led to her really stepping her game up,” said Mount Pisgah basketball coach Jennifer Osborne. “She’s been getting a double-double pretty much every night and is the driving force for us inside.”

Raymer, a 6-foot-3 center, has filled up the stat sheet every night this season for Osborne’s team. Her triple-double came in a 22-19 region win over Whitefield Academy where she scored 15 points, pulled down 18 rebounds and blocked 10 shots. Raymer is averaging 13.9 points, 13.4 rebounds and 4.8 blocks per game, and she owns school records in all three categories.

“We’ve even used her to bring the ball up the court at times,” said Osborne of Raymer, who has signed a scholarship to play at Rollins College in Florida. “She can play any position on the floor. She’s a great player.”
