On Jan. 15 Brent Kirn, the territory sales manager with Trouw Nutrition USA presented K9 Bruno, his handler, Officer Greg Cooper, and Chief Rusty Grant with the Kevlar K9 Vest. Bruno is a dual purpose K9, meaning that he is trained for patrol functions and narcotics detection. Cooper states that Bruno will use his new vest for high risk situations.
Today’s working K9s in law enforcement are put in mortal danger when they are doing their jobs. Whether guarding territory, looking for criminals or searching for drugs, these dogs work in hazardous situations and are vulnerable to attack from every side. Loyal, intelligent and highly trained, these remarkable animals give 100 percent of themselves and 100 percent of their time, unconditionally. The vest will protect the dog, while he is out helping the public.
