Southwest Atlanta Christian senior Alexis Carter was three times the trouble for Darlington last Saturday.

Carter was effective in the paint, scoring majority of her points there and collecting six offensive rebounds. The 6-foot-1 center was also a nuisance during the full-court press, intercepting passes like an all-star safety on the football field.

When the final buzzer sounded in SACA’s 68-35 victory, Carter had tallied a team-high 20 points, 10 steals, eight rebounds and two blocks.

“I got to do my part on both ends of the floor,” said Carter, who likes to block shots and make assists.

“She can shoot with both hands,” SACA coach Jackie Cowan said. “She rebounds well, blocks shots well and runs the floor well.”

With Carter putting up these types of numbers alongside forwards Amy Griffin and Amber Brown, and speedy point guard Marquita Daniels, the Lady Warriors have a good chance of returning to the Class A title game.

“It’s hard to stop Carter and Griffin,” Cowan said. “They can move and do a lot of things well. They are not just players who go to the post. They give us a lot of versatility.”

Carter has a 3.3 GPA and an interest in playing at Georgia or La Salle.
