Held at Stonewall Manor in Cartersville, the event features an evening of fun and dancing for a good cause.
“We’ll have an assortment of things to keep us entertained,” said Ascension’s outreach chairperson Tiffany Tindall.
In addition to music provided by DJ Nunzio Cheverez, the event will feature both a live and silent auction.
This is the second year for the Mardi Gras and last year, Tindall said the turnout was great.
“It was very successful last year,” Tindall said. “It was our largest fundraiser of the year.”
Tindall said this year’s event should be even better.
Tickets to Mardi Gras are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. Tickets include admission, food and two drink vouchers. There also will be a cash bar available.
Tindall said the event promises to bring a little New Orleans flavor to Bartow County.
“Stonewall Manor does a phenomenal job of doing New Orleans cuisine,” Tindall said. “The food is amazing.” Proceeds from the Mardi Gras benefit the outreach ministry at Church of the Ascension.
Tindall said that makes attending the event worthwhile.
“The fact is, there are people in this county, this state and this nation who are hungry,” Tindall said.
In addition to providing 72 families with food per week, Ascension’s food pantry, which is part of outreach ministry, is the only one site that also distributes pet food.
“If you aren’t able to feed your family, then you certainly need help feeding your pet and we want to help families as much as we can,” Tindall said.
