Three representatives abstained and nine had excused absences. The bill now goes to the Senate for vote.
However, HB 142 will not keep House committees from receiving lobbyists’ gifts.
All local legislators who were present voted yes: District 48’s Harry Geisinger, R-Roswell; District 51’s Wendell Willard, R-Sandy Springs; District 52’s Joe Wilkinson, R-Sandy Springs; District 54’s Edward Lindsey, R-Atlanta; District 56’s “Able” Mable Thomas, D-Atlanta; and District 57’s Pat Gardner, D-Atlanta. District 53’s Sheila Jones, D-Atlanta, was absent.
In January the Senate voted 42-14 to approve a similar bill, Senate Resolution 1. It is now awaiting vote in the House.
