Taking the position that deliberations by the Atlanta mayor, city council and Central Atlanta Progress will result in the best possible arrangement, the group encouraged them to move forward.
Falcons leaders have estimated the new stadium, which would replace the 20-year-old Georgia Dome, will cost $1 billion, with up to $300 million funded by the city through its hotel/motel tax. Under the current plan, it would be located downtown, near the current stadium.
