A benefit for the Johns Creek Arts Center, “Art in Bloom” will be held March 21, at 7 p.m. at Gallery Events, 10700 State Bridge Road in Johns Creek.
Tickets are $75 each or $700 for a block of 10.
Presented in collaboration with the Johns Creek Arts Center Guild, “Art in Bloom” follows the concept — established more than 30 years ago by Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts — of pairing the art of floral design with two-dimensional art pieces.
“This event is the only place in Georgia to see this famous form of art. A couple of board members from our center went to the Boston museum and saw the art there. They thought it would be great to bring it into the Johns Creek community,” said Gail Hisle, executive director of the center.
“Artists take crazy abstract objects and interpret them into floral designs. It’s very challenging and it’s amazing to see the artists’ creativity.”
The “Art in Bloom” gala and exhibition will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. There will also be a musical performance by a trio from the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra.
The event almost sold out last year and has been gaining popularity. “The gala is the largest fundraiser for the year,” Hisle said.
