Landmark Christian senior Paul Orr is quick to admit who else was an integral part in the extension of his career as a cross country runner.

“My coaches have put countless hours into me and I’m just glad they’ve been here with me through the whole thing,” Orr said. “When I started out, I wasn’t very good but with their coaching now I will be running in college.”

After signing his Letter of Intent on March 13, Orr will be joining Georgia College’s cross country team next year.

“I think they have a really good medical program,” said Orr, who has a 4.0 grade-point average and plans to major in biology before enrolling in medical school.

Last fall, Orr had six top-10 finishes in the 5K, including a ninth-place finish at the GHSA Class A championship.

“I like the competition in cross country because there is no end to how good you can get,” Orr said. “You can always become faster so you are never satisfied so you are never satisfied with how fast you can be.”

Now with just a few laps left to run at Landmark, Orr has his sights set on winning his first state title in the 1600 or 3200-meter run.
