Weprinsky, who plays varsity volleyball, basketball and soccer at North Springs, was honored at the eighth annual Atlanta Sports Awards at the Fox Theater March 5.
The award, which is presented by Georgia Best Chevy Dealers, recognizes local athletes who achieve success academically as well as athletically.
All finalists are nominated by their school principal and athletic director. Each recipient receives a $1,000 scholarship to be used at an institution of higher education.
The awards cover a 29-county region, which includes more than 250 public and private high schools.
Weprinsky was defensive player of the year for the North Springs’ volleyball team and was also a shooting guard on the school’s basketball squad and is a wing defender in soccer.
In the classroom, she earned a grade point average that ranks third in her graduating class and is both an AP and UGA Merit Scholar.
She is a dual magnet student in science and music, president of both the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Weprinsky is also a student ambassador at North Springs as well as a student government representative and secretary of Interact, a service club for young people ages 12 to 18 that is sponsored by Rotary International.
She is the daughter of Peter Weprinsky and DeeAnn Weprinsky of Sandy Springs.
