While they are a team, each player has their own game to play and one of these players has stood out in the crowd.
Junior Mallory Walker is the girls’ second singles player for the ‘Canes this season.
Walker is currently undefeated with a 7-0 record. According to head coach Melissa Moore, Walker played her best match against Coahulla Creek this season.
Moore also said that Walker’s “confidence and skills continue to develop with each and every match”.
Walker has been a member of the team since her freshman year and Moore said she has seen some significant improvement in her game.
“Mallory has learned to play more aggressively and has become more consistent, especially with her serves and net play during her time with the Canes,” Moore said.
According to Moore, Walker is not only a “strong player” as she plays tennis all year long, but she is a leader as well.
Off the tennis court, Moore also said she admires Walker’s hard work in the classroom. “She is also a stellar student. Her diligence and dedication to her education are traits that are apparent in all aspects of her life,” Moore said.
