Of these anxious Alexander players, head coach David Huynh named Madison Seese as the featured athlete.
Seese has played soccer since age 7 and played varsity for Alexander since she was a freshman.
As a senior, a captain and center midfielder, Huynh describes Seese as a “great leader on the field," both vocally and by example.
Since he began coaching Seese last season, Huynh said she simply refined her skills.
According to Huynh, Seese was nicknamed “Madi Ice” by her team due to her clutch performances in big games throughout the season such as a 5-3 win over LaGrange on March 1.
“She scored the penalty kick that was clutch for us and gave us a huge momentum to win the game,” said Huynh.
Seese said her most memorable moment of her senior season was defeating Columbus on March 22.
“Nobody thought we were going to win, but we did. We gained a lot of self-confidence,” Seese said.
Seese will be attending Georgia Southern University in the fall pursuing a degree in early childhood education, and does not plan to play soccer because she would like to focus more on school.
Finishing her high school soccer career Seese said she will miss the team and the family they have developed.
“It’ll be weird not having them to come to after school,” said Seese.
