“It started hurting a while ago from overtraining,” said Morley, who was unable to pinpoint an exact date.
Before she had her foot placed in a walking boot and her 2013 track-and-field season ended, Morley was a force to be reckoned with in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles and the discus in Class A.
Morley had six first-place finishes in the discus and set a personal record in the event Apr. 13.
“Discus is quite fun,” she said. “I wish I could throw at state.”
Morley also had five first-place finishes in the 300-meter hurdles and three in the 100-meter hurdles.
“I really want to show what I can do and how much training it takes,” Morley said.
“During the meets when I get first place, yes I’m excited but it’s more of the quality of the training that I put into it that got me there and not just my talent.”
Also a member of the 4-by-100 and 4-by-400 relay teams, Morley is hopeful that she will come back even stronger next season.
