The 35 defendants in the Atlanta Public Schools CRCT cheating scandal and racketeering case will be arraigned May 3, the Fulton County Superior Court administration staff announced Tuesday in an emailed response to questions about the case.

The defendants were indicted March 22, turned themselves in March 26 and 27 and were bonded out of jail that week. The arraignment will take place May 3 at 9:30 a.m. in Courtroom 1C, before Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jerry W. Baxter, court staff wrote in an email.

The defendants, including former Superintendent Beverly Hall, are accused of conspiring to change answers on students’ CRCT exams to boost test scores and, in turn, receive achievement bonuses.
