Jones has gotten out of the gates quickly, reeling off nine consecutive wins in No. 1 singles play to start the season.
She’s racked up all those W’s the old-fashioned way — by simply outhustling, outwitting and outplaying the competition.
In the true sign of a budding star, the precocious frosh seemingly gets better with every outing.
Whether capitalizing on opponents’ mistakes or forcing the issue, Jones’ all-around game continues to develop at a rapid pace.
At this rate, the Lady Jaguars’ retiring her racquet and tennis skirt in three years would seem like a no-brainer.
But, she’ll cross that bridge when she gets to it. There’s too much tennis to be played between now and then.
In the meantime, get used to Jones racking up more wins as part of her evolution … quite possibly, from good to great.
