On May 3 and 4, The Scott Rigsby Foundation will be teaming up with several Georgia businesses and Alpharetta organizations to bring back the annual Alliance Ride charity bicycle event and U.S. Handcycling races.

All the events will begin from the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on Friday and Saturday.

This year’s events will incorporate two U.S. Handcycle Federation events, 25-mile and 50-mile recreational bike rides, a CrossFit Challenge and the inaugural Greater Atlanta Veteran Hiring Expo, called Invest In Our Vets.

Bike Alpharetta will enlist volunteers as bicycle marshals to ride along with athletes during the Epic Handcycling Road Race on Saturday, to help make the low-profile hand cycles more visible to motorists.

“This year is extra-special as we expand the event with job opportunities for veterans and additional athletic competition,” said Scott Rigsby, a Georgia resident who is a double-amputee Ironman, author and professional speaker. “Impacting lives at the individual level is our mission and having our military heroes at the event will be very rewarding.”

In its fourth year, the Alliance Ride is held in honor of U.S. veteran and active-duty warriors from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
