The Christian Community Orchestra's free Spring-sational Family Concert is set for Tuesday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church, 5811 Central Church Road in Douglasville.

The concert is free and no offering is taken. All ages are invited to attend. Following the program will be a fellowship with refreshments, giving an opportunity for the orchestra to meet members of our audience.

The music will be uplifting and a pleasure to hear as the players of the orchestra bring music for special moments in our lives. A musical time will highlight those who have or are serving in our military, those serving as first responders in our community, people who are graduating with a diploma or other certificate, a tribute to our senior citizens, and those who are getting married or have been married 50 years or more. Some unusual instruments will play solos for the audience to enjoy their unique sounds as well as the Celebration Brass Quintet. You will not want to miss this special evening.

The orchestra has been performing for 21 years and includes players ranging from 9 years old to retired adults. The orchestra plays Christian, patriotic and classical music and meets on Monday evenings from 7p.m.-8:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. There are no auditions, but being able to play at an intermediate level is needed.

In addition, a string orchestra will begin rehearsales this summer on June10 at 6p.m. at Central Baptist Church with the full orchestra following at 7pm.
