North Springs’ Diaja Oliver is clearly saving her best for last as she finishes her high school track and field career.

The senior sprinter qualified for the state meet in convincing fashion after winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.08 seconds and the 400 dash at 56.87 at the Class AAAAA sectionals at Starr’s Mill High School in Fayetteville April 27.

Oliver also won both of her events at the Region 7AAAAA meet at Creekview High School in Canton April 20. She won the 200 with a time of 25.37 and the 400 at 58.42.

She also helped lead North Springs to victory in the 1,600 relay at both the sectional and 7AAAAA meets and a runner-up finish in the 400 relay at the sectional competition.

“Diaja has done a great job this season and has been training hard,” North Springs coach Patricia Carroll said.

Last year, Oliver finished runner-up in both the 200 and 400 in the state meet in AAA.
