Some Sandy Springs roads still closed due to storms

In a news release posted to its website Saturday at 11 a.m., the city of Sandy Springs announced several roads are still closed due to Thursday night’s severe rainstorms.

The release stated, “Significant progress has been made overnight and this morning removing trees and power lines. Crews hope to have most of the roads open and power restored by late this afternoon. There are several tree crews working to clear main streets first them moving to secondary streets.”

According to the release, only the southbound lane in the intersection at Mount Vernon and Heards Ferry roads is open.

“We are hoping [to] have the intersection open by late this afternoon,” the release stated.

The city has posted the list of roadway updates on its Facebook page

The following intersections are now open:

o 4996 to 5354 Powers Ferry Road

o 5763 Dudley Lane

o High Point Road

o 5530 Benton Woods

o Spalding-west of Glenridge Drive

o 6688 Brandon Mill

o 90 North Mill Road

o Hunters Branch/Twin Branch

o Hidden Branch at Spalding

o 415-470 Morgan Falls Road

o 5850 Pine Brook Road

The following roads are still closed:

o 5660 Colton Drive

o 975 West Kingston

o 6840 Castleton Drive

o 7195 Dunhill

o 870 Spalding at Trowbridge

o Dalrymple and Dunhill Terrace

o 269 Elden Drive

o River Court Parkway at Riverside Way

o 325 Amberidge

o River Knoll at Rivercourt Parkway

o Riverside Drive at Breakwater

o Riverside Drive at Mount Vernon
