DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis has been indicted by a DeKalb grand jury. County District Attorney Robert James was to announce the indictment Tuesday.

Ellis was indicted on 15 counts:

-4 counts of criminal attempt to commit theft by extortion

-2 counts of conspiracy in restraint of free and open competition

-2 counts of criminal attempt to commit false statements and writings

-3 counts of theft by taking

-1 count of conspiracy to defraud a political subdivision

-3 counts of coercion of other employee to give anything of value for political purposes
