Those seeking to get married in Paulding have numerous choices for wedding venues in the county.

Among them are Indigo Falls in Dallas and Che’ne Rouge in Hiram.

Indigo Falls opened in November 2012, and hosted its first wedding Nov. 17, 2012. So far the venue has been the site of 17 weddings, and only has one open weekend until the week before Christmas, said Bruce Johnson, who manages the venue.

“We are going to have 50 weddings in our first year,” he said. “And next year is booking fast.”

Indigo Falls is owned by Don and Shelia Tidwell. They built the outdoor part of the venue for their daughter’s wedding and then decided to create a business, Johnson said.

“As their plans came together they created a much larger venue than they had planned,” he said.

The 330-acre property has three lakes, a seven-mile walking trail; a chapel which seats 250; an outdoor facility which seats 225 and has standing room; a reception hall and a music room which includes a stage.

“We are ‘rustic meets elegance,’” Johnson said.

In America the average costs to rent a venue for a wedding and reception is about $12,000, according to weddingindustrystatistics.com.

However, Johnson did not disclose pricing for the facility and the property is shown by appointment only, he said

Che’ne Rouge is located at 86 Poplar Springs Road in Hiram. Open since 2007, the venue averages 60 weddings per year, said Business Development Manager Amanda Voyles.

“We offer all-inclusive packages,” she said. “That is what sets us apart.”

Customers can rent just the facility and bring in their own vendors, or order it all through the business, Voyles said.

The venue features an outdoor site with two options for setup: a ballroom which can be transformed from ceremony site to reception hall in 15 to 20 minutes, two bars and a separate buffet area. Maximum capacity is 200 attendees.

Nationally-known wedding planner David Tutera has hosted a book signing at the location, and gave them advice, which has been a big success. Voyles said, “He put Che’ne Rouge on the map.”

The facility also has been featured in such wedding-themed reality shows as “Say Yes To The Dress Bridesmaids” and “My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding,” Voyles said.

Brides come from all over the country to use the venue, she said. There is even a bride from Afghanistan who has only seen pictures online, and is scheduled to be married at Che’ne Rouge.

According to the facility’s web site, rentals begin at $6,500.
