Roswell residents who experienced sticker shock upon opening their property tax assessment can breathe a sigh of relief.

According to a news release issued by the city of Roswell, Fulton County's estimate of Roswell taxes are 10 times higher than the correct amount.

The Fulton County Assessor’s Office has made an error in their Annual Notice of Assessment mailed to Roswell homeowners, overestimating Roswell property taxes 10 times higher than the correct amount. The Assessor’s office will be sending Roswell property owners a new notice of assessment.

This error would make the property taxes $5,455 on the average home in Roswell assessed at $250,000 instead of the correct amount of $545.50. The City of Roswell bills its property owners for property taxes and will be billing for the correct amount.
