According to the bureau’s marketing coordinator, Kim Trawick, the city had such good feedback from last year’s event they decided to host it again.
“I am looking forward to another great one,” Trawick said.
“This is the time to show why Dunwoody is such a great dining destination.”
The intentions throughout the week are to promote the restaurants in the area and to encourage residents to branch out from their usual dining locations. All restaurants in the area were sent save the dates and the bureau followed up with ones that showed interest.
There are 24 restaurants participating this year, such as McKendrick’s Steak House, Firebird Rotisserie and Sports, Dunwoody Bistro, Chili’s, El Azteca, Alison’s Restaurant and others.
Alison Norris, owner of Alison’s Restaurant, hopes to serve one of her favorite items on the menu — lobster ravioli — during the week.
“It’s great exposure, especially for restaurants like us because we are stuck in a corner of Dunwoody,” Norris said.
Restaurant goers can also expect to see Norris’ award-winning crab cakes on the menu at the small family run restaurant on Chamblee Dunwoody Road.
Local restaurant Dunwoody Bistro at 2482 Jett Ferry Road has been in the city for more than nine years and decided to participate in Restaurant Week to do something different. According to owner and chef Lauren Shaar, this restaurant offers a small menu, but keeps bringing in friendly and loyal customers.
Dunwoody Bistro also hosts ladies luncheons, book clubs, showers and other special events.
All of the restaurants will offer their best dishes and desserts on a prix fixe menu. Depending on the restaurant, lunch is $10 or $15 and dinner is $20 or $30.
