The Rev. Bill Britt, senior minister at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Buckhead, announced at the end of the 11:15 a.m. service Sunday the church has reached an agreement with the Buckhead Forest neighborhood on construction of its new youth center.

Since March, residents had publicly voiced concerns over the church’s planned 49,000-square-foot youth center, which Britt said in April would be no more than 35 feet from the nearest property in the neighborhood. Britt said Sunday the matter would now be approved as it went through the city’s zoning process, starting with this past Tuesday’s Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit B meeting.
