Meeting seeks public input on service gaps in state's behavioral, developmental disabilities programs

The Region One Planning Board of the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities will host a town hall meeting Aug. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Deer Lick Park Activity Room 110 at 2105 Mack Road in Douglasville.

The purpose of this meeting is to identify service gaps in this region for people with developmental disabilities, serious mental illnesses and addictive diseases, according to a release from the department.

The general public, elected officials and those with special interests in mental health, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases are encouraged to attend.

Information gathered from this meeting and similar ones being held in other areas will be used to develop the state plan for services.
