“It means a great deal for me to be recognized at a national level on a first-year team and a lot to be awarded this as a freshman,” Bausum said. “This will make me work harder every year now that I know what I am capable of achieving. It also shows that first-year teams should not be underrated.”
The Alpharetta native is only the sixth freshman to receive the goals per game statistical award in any of the three NCAA divisions. Bausum scored 61 goals over 10 games, calculating to 6.1 goals per contest.
Bausum also finished tenth nationally in the statistical category of points per game, with 6.4. Bausum’s head coach, Haley Marvine, is also an alumna of Chattahoochee.
