The Chapel Hill volleyball team is on a roll as they defeated nine of their last 11 opponents and have an overall 14-4 record.

Junior middle hitter Kylah Maxwell-Brown has played a major part in that success.

According to head coach Jeremy Anderson, Maxwell-Brown is a “model athlete” and her most memorable moments this year were during the championship game of the At the Rock tournament in Rockmart on Aug. 31.

“She had several key attacks which resulted in points,” Anderson said.

Seconding her coach, Maxwell-Brown said, “I think I did pretty good at the tournament. I had some pretty good hits.”

Maxwell-Brown has played volleyball for the school since her freshman year and played club volleyball for the last two years.

She currently leads the team in points from attacks with around 120 points. She also has a kill percentage of 77.

While Maxwell-Brown may be an asset to the team statistically, what Anderson admires most is her scholastic work ethic.

“She puts school ahead of volleyball,” said Anderson, noting she uses most of her down time to study.

Along with her study habits, Anderson said Maxwell-Brown is a true team player as she is always happy, no matter if she is on the court or having to sit on the bench at times during the game.

Her goal for this season is to help the team get further in the state playoffs than they did last year when they fell in the first round.
