One of the key players in this game in North Paulding’s recent, historic 27-13 defeat of East Paulding in football was senior linebacker Bryant Myers.

Myers had 12 tackles in the game – seven solo and five assists – making him the leading tackler for the Wolfpack going into game two against New Manchester. It was North Paulding’s first victory against the Raiders in school history.

“I felt like I played good but it was the first game and I have some room to improve and show out my senior season,” said Myers.

Seeing as Myers was playing a slightly different position than what he was accustomed, head coach Scott Jones said he was pleased with his performance.

“[He] played very well. We recently moved Bryant from an outside backer position to inside. He has adjusted well,” said Jones.

Myers was described by Jones as the most improved player “without a doubt” at this early point in the season.

Jones also said that Myers is a physical player on the field and is very coachable.

“Stepping up” for the team against East Paulding, Jones said he and the rest of the coaching staff look forward to his progress.

With this being Myers’ last season with the team he has some goals for himself and the team.

“My goals are to have a winning season, go to [the] playoffs again this year, but bring home the trophy and also to grow closer with my team because we’re a ‘pack,’” said Myers.
