The coalition hopes to raise $25,000 annually, with the funds coming from a percentage of new annual gas sales within Buckhead that will be generated by the organization’s marketing efforts.
The coalition has already donated $5,000 toward the effort.
Through Oct. 5, Gas South will provide a $50 credit to Buckhead residents and businesses which enroll in the program, and the company will waive the $60 connection fee for establishing service at a new residence.
“Gas South is excited to work with Mayor Massell and the staff and board of directors at the Buckhead Coalition,” Gas South President and CEO Kevin Greiner said in a statement. “This win-win proposition will provide discounts on natural gas service for Buckhead residents and business as well as sustained annual funding for the Shepherd Center’s program.
“The Buckhead Coalition is one of our region’s most respected civic organizations and we are honored to have the opportunity to partner with them on this worthy cause.”
