This unique event will bring women together for fun, fellowship and celebration.
There will be gourmet teas to taste and purchase, food and a silent auction of products and services from local merchants.
Local artist Montie Nelson Esworthy will provide entertainment with songs highlighting the evolution of women from homemakers of the 1940s to CEOs of the 21st century.
A representative from Tranquility House will share stories of women who survived abusive relationships to thrive in new lives.
Tickets are limited and are $20.
All proceeds from the tea will benefit the shelter. A cash prize will be awarded in a 50/50 raffle with half of the total going to the shelter.
These tickets are $10 and ticket holders do not have to be present to win.
As a member of the General and Georgia Federation of Women’s Clubs, the Cartersville Woman’s Club is completely dedicated to community service, a news release stated.
The club, an organization with 23 members, brings together women from all walks of life who are inspired to volunteer to improve the lives of others through projects that impact the arts, the environment, education, home life, international outreach and public issues.
The club is actively involved in Relay for Life, scoleosis screenings with the Bartow Health Department and the Great Allatoona Lake Clean Up.
Special emphasis is placed on projects, like the tea, focusing attention on the scourge of domestic violence, the release stated.
According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, one in four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime.
These alarming statistics underscore the need for us all to pitch in to effect change. With help, the cycle of domestic violence can be broken.
