Johns Creek resident Roochu Shah is organizing a fundraiser at Ocee Park in Johns Creek Sept. 28 to raise money for the Jagriti Sewa Trust, which provides education to children in Faridabad, India, including many who come from slums and have little to no educational opportunities.

The Virtual Guru Fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature carnival games, food, a raffle, a silent auction and a used books drive.

Attendees are asked to bring slightly used books or board games for the book drive.

Proceeds from the event will go towards purchasing computers and a projector for the school children. The volunteers organizing the event are also working to provide the school with educational videos translated in local languages.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Attendees must register in advance by calling Shah at (404) 723-3831 or emailing her at VirtualGuru2013@gmail.com.
