Etowah Eagles (5-0, 2-0) at Milton Eagles (5-0, 2-0): Both teams share many commonalities this season in nicknames, records and first place in Region 5-AAAAAA. Milton comes into the contest off of an impressive 38-9 victory over Wheeler last week in which it scored 38 unanswered points in the win. Running back Micco Brisker ran for 111 yards in the Wheeler victory. Milton’s defense has also been strong, allowing a region-low 11 points per game. Etowah earned a close 38-36 win over Roswell last week. Milton won last season’s contest, 59-27.

Roswell Hornets (2-3, 0-2) at Wheeler Wildcats (2-3, 0-2): Both teams look to get their first region win on Friday as the Hornets travel to Marietta facing a Wheeler squad that lost to Milton last week. Roswell quarterback James Whitaker threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns in the Hornets’ 38-36 loss to Etowah last week. The Wildcats defeated the Hornets, 17-14 last season after dropping the previous three meetings.

Cambridge Bears (1-3, 0-0) at Northview Titans (2-2, 0-0): Both teams will open Region 7A-AAAAA play coming off impressive victories last week. The Bears won their home opener 41-32 over Pope behind 310 yards passing and 100 yards rushing from quarterback Bryan Moore. It was the second win in program history. Northview rode the 240 yards passing and two touchdowns from quarterback DJ Pearson to a 34-32 win over Riverwood. Nathan Phillips also had two touchdowns in the win. The Titans won last year’s contest 62-28.

Whitefield Academy WolfPack (2-2, 0-1) at Fellowship Christian Paladins (3-1, 0-0): The Paladins welcome the WolfPack coming off of a bye week. Fellowship won its first three contests of the 2013 campaign before dropping its first game of the year to Christian Heritage on Sept 20. Whitefield defeated Gordon Lee, 18-0, last week. The WolfPack have won all five meetings against Fellowship, including last season’s 43-14 win.

King’s Ridge Tigers (2-2, 1-0) at Mt. Paran Eagles (3-1, 0-0): The Tigers will travel to Kennesaw seeking to stay undefeated in Region 6B-A play. King’s Ridge dropped its contest last week at Darlington, 31-7. Prior to that, the Tigers had won two of its last three games, including victories over Pinecrest and St. Francis. The Eagles beat Trion 31-12 last week. Last season, Mt. Paran won the contest between the two teams 21-13.

Walker Wolverines (3-1, 1-0) at Mt. Pisgah Patriots (4-0, 0-0): The Patriots stayed undefeated with an impressive 26-7 win over Wilson (AL) last Friday. Quarterback Aaron Winchester had 177 yards passing while defensive lineman Shingi Chigwere led the charge with 12 tackles, including 1.5 sacks. Walker won its last game over Mt. Zion, Carroll 7-3. The Wolverines defeated the Patriots 35-6 last season.

St. Francis Knights (3-2) at Cross Keys Indians (1-4): The Knights will travel to DeKalb county seeing a third consecutive win in the non-region contest. St. Francis earned a 41-16 win over Hebron Christian on Sept. 20. The Knights also defeated Whitefield Academy 27-14 three weeks ago. Cross Keys won its first game of the season last week in a 47-29 win over North Cobb Christian last week. St. Francis won the matchup last season, 48-24.
