Last season, Bradley Dewberry filled up the stat sheet for Eagle’s Landing but the team saw just one ‘W’ in the win column. However, this year Dewberry has continued to punish opponents with his arm and legs and better yet the Golden Eagles have seen some early success in 2013.

After five games, Dewberry has completed more than 50 percent of his passes for nearly 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for six TDs during the Golden Eagles’ 4-1 start.

“The mindset of the team has really turned around compared to the last few years,” Dewberry said. “We know our past few seasons haven’t been good but I feel like this year we can really change that, especially starting out 4-1.”

“Bradley is such an unbelievable athlete,” Eagle’s Landing coach Joe Teknipp said. “He can make plays when everything goes wrong. He can still break a tackle or make someone miss and get the ball off. He’s pretty special. The play is always alive.”

Against Riverdale last Friday, Dewberry threw for 210 yards and a season-high four touchdowns in a 31-10 victory.

“I have to give thanks to my receivers for making plays, especially my tight end Tyler Guice,” Dewberry said.

The senior Dewberry also plays defensive back and is being recruited to play that position or wide receiver in college.
