The Sandy Springs Conservancy has postponed its Oct. 19 Sandy Springs Family Ramble at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Center at Island Ford in Sandy Springs, it announced Monday.

“We are sad to announce that due to the government shutdown and the closing of the national parks, we will not host this event as planned for Oct. 19. We will reschedule once the national parks reopen,” Linda Bain, the conservancy’s executive director, said in an email to the media.

The shutdown started Oct. 1 and continues today.

The conservancy is a nonprofit aiming to build public/private partnerships to create, conserve and connect parks and greenspace in the city.
