“Honestly, we didn’t know who would be the other safety going into spring practice and in summer camp we still didn’t have that question answered,” Brantley said. “But he really stepped up as a ninth grader and we really needed him to do that. It has been a big plus for us.”
Before the War Eagles’ 34-12 win over Strong Rock last Friday, Tidwell had a total of three interceptions and three fumble recoveries.
“I’m just trying to find who has the ball and trying to make good plays for my team,” said Tidwell, who returned an interception for a touchdown against Athens Christian and recovered a fumble for a score against Mount Vernon Presbyterian.
“He’s real savvy and really has a nose for the ball,” Brantley said. “He’s done a really good job.”
Tidwell is also a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and former free safety Bacarri Rambo.
“He’s always made big plays and was a team leader,” Tidwell said.
After Landmark makes another lengthy run in the postseason, Tidwell plans to also begin his baseball career as a War Eagle.
