The team is coming off of a strong performance at the Area 4-AAAAAA Tournament, in which the Hornets earned the Reserve Championship. Martin had seven kills, five blocks and two digs in the Hornets’ 2-0 victory over Marietta on Oct. 10. She followed up that performance with another seven kills in a match against Etowah later that day, in which Roswell gained another 2-0 victory, clinching the Reserve title.
“Stephanie is a consistent player whose always able to come up with key points at crucial moments for our team,” Roswell community coach Damien Scott said. “She has improved a lot on the court and always there to make a teammate smile or laugh off the court.”
Roswell will begin its quest for a state championship when it hosts South Gwinnett in the first round of the playoffs this week. “I’m excited on how much the team has improved and still tapering our training to peak at the right time of season,” Scott said. “We have our goals for each practice that will lead to our end goal for season.”
