Fellowship Christian has housed one of the surprise football teams in Class A this season with the Paladins currently sporting a 4-2 overall record; this most wins since a five-win campaign in 2011. Furthermore, the team is two wins away from securing its first winning season since 2007. The catalyst for this turnaround has been senior quarterback Hunter Bryant.

The signal caller had 317 yards passing and two touchdown throws in the Paladins’ 38-33 homecoming victory over Whitefield Academy on Oct. 4. “Hunter was big,” head coach Al Morrell said, in reference to the Whitefield contest. “He has a great ability to make big plays, which he did.”

For the season, Bryant has passed for 1017 yards, which is nearly double the total he had as a junior. His nine touchdowns though the air this season are also a career-high. For his efforts, Bryant was also named the North Fulton Touchdown Club Male Athlete of the Month for September earlier this year.

“Hunter is our permanent team captain because of his leadership and work ethic,” Morrell said.

Bryant has also been a stellar performer in the classroom, posting a grade point average of 4.2.

The Paladins are still in the hunt for its first postseason berth in six seasons and will host Mount Paran Christian this Friday.
